Taurus

Our next earth sign and our next fixed sign is Taurus! Taurus is ruled by Venus and in the western tropical Zodiac typically encompasses April 20-May 20. 

As fixed signs, Taurus are known to be stubborn (or bullheaded, if you will) and wed to their plans. As earth signs, they are grounded. Basically, impossible to change their minds or move them - they like structure, routine, stability. Because they're ruled by Venus, the planet of love and pleasure, they're also all about the luxuries of life. Their ambition and focus coupled with their desire for sensuous would imply that their mantra in life would be "Work hard, play harder" and you would be right. To me, though, Taurus are the quintessential homebodies of the Zodiac. Is it really a surprise that April 20 sometimes is the start of Taurus season? 

The sign of Taurus is associated with several myths and bull worship from several ancient cultures. It was the first sign of the zodiac established among the Mesopotamians, who called it "The Great Bull of Heaven," as it was the constellation through which the Sun rose on the vernal equinox at that time. The Taurus constellation is also associated with Zeus who took the form of a bull to abduct Europa, and then coincidentally the sign of Wall Street is a bull, just to drive home that drive for financial stability. 

Our Taurus yarn is a nod to their earthy sensibilities with a spring green base, moss and forest green speckles, as well as embracing their Venus-rule love of love with a blend of blush and lilac.
