The Moon

Welcome to March and full on Pisces season!

The card typically shows a full moon (naturally) positioned between two towers. In the foreground, there is a pond/river with a crawfish coming out the water. There are a dog and a wolf with a stream between them. Our individual decks at the shop vary - Bryce's deck has an owl flying in front of the moon, Kelley's decks have some thread wrapped around a crescent moon and a more traditional version but with a half sun/moon, Chelsea's has cats instead of dogs (and no water), and Ashley's has the most traditional card.

The Moon is a card met with some apprehension - there's a lot of confusion, illusion, uncertainty, complexity, and secrets with an upright pull. Reversed, it's anxiety, deception, misunderstanding, and misinterpretation. The Moon is a symbol of intuition, dreams and the unconscious. Its light is dim compared to the sun, and only slightly illuminates the path to higher consciousness winding between the two towers. The wolf and the dog represent our animalistic nature - the dog our more civilized, the wolf wild and feral.

On one hand, the Moon card can symbolize your imagination is taking the best of you. In the dark of the night, you are taking a path that you are unsure of, for there could be danger lurking in its depths. The moon's light can bring you clarity and understanding and you should allow your intuition to guide you through this darkness.

A Moon reversal in a reading can sometimes indicate that the darker and more negative aspects of the moon are present in your life. It could represent confusion and unhappiness - you want to make progress, but you are not sure what is the right thing to do. You must deal with your anxiety and fears by overcoming them, for they are like shadows in the dark. It is time to believe in yourself and move forward. You could be in an intuitive period or you have recently battled confusion, anxiety, and self-deception. It could be that you are misinterpreting how you have been feeling however you are starting to improve on this.

Ultimately the Moon card, representative of watery Pisces, wants you to look inward and maybe decipher the messages from the universe in a different way. What's really at the root? Things aren't as they appear - what's really going on? What's being hidden from you? For you?

Our Moon yarn is a very pale yellow, purple and grey blend with aqua, purple, and yellow speckles.
